The 2013 edition of the Latvian Championships for men and women will take place on 13th-20th April at the Mikhail Tal Chess Club in Riga.
Both tournaments will be 9-round Swiss opens with a time control of 90 minutes for the whole game plus 30 seconds increments from move one.
The prize fund in the main event amounts to 2.800 Latvian Lats (approx. 5.200 US dollars), with 700 LVL reserved for the winner.
The men’s event counts with 28 registered players, including 3 GMs and 1 IM. The first seeded players are GM Normunds Miezis, GM Artur Neiksans and GM Evgeny Sveshnikov.
