Wesley So has made history with his win today over Polish GM Marcin Dziuba. His new LIVE rating is 2701.4. He has become the 1st Filipino and American collegiate player to break the 2700 mark. It is a double achievement for Wesley!
Since coming to Webster University last Fall (August 2012) to join the SPICE program, he has worked very hard to improve on his chess. Hard work has paid off and Wesley gained around 50 points. He continues to stay at the top of the leaderboard in Reykjavik with one more round to go. He has also passed Yu Yangyi to become the #2 junior in the world.
